1st Row Studio Audience

East Coast, West Coast, Late Night, Daytime, plenty of options and tickets are free.

How many things are free these days? Be a part of the studio audience and attend a taping to one of your favorite shows. Live taping? Even better. Best part, tickets are free. If you don’t live close to NYC or LA to attend a show on a whim then maybe plan a mini vaca around it. Definitely a bucket list item!

Our pick was and it did not disappoint. Me, my hubby and our two friends picked a Thursday afternoon recording. We all left work early to get online about an hour before the check-in time since studio seating is first-come first-serve.

  • Total Time: 3:30pm – 7:00pm (not including travel)
  • Our Arrival: 3:30pm (Not first on line but only 4 people ahead of us)
  • Check-in: 4:45pm
  • Waiting Room: A staff member escorts you to a waiting room where the rules are reviewed with everyone. Snacks and drinks are provided and restrooms are available. This is your last opportunity to use bathroom. You hang out here for about 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Studio: A staff member takes small groups of people up to the studio via an elevator. You can’t walk into the studio and choose your seats. A staff member will bring you to your seats. The first couple of rows on each side of the studio are filled up first. Getting on line early paid off, we scored 1st row! They allow you to take pictures before the show starts but your cellphones need to be turned off once they start recording.
  • Show Taping: Gutfled and his cast walked on stage around 6pm and the taping lasted about an hour.

We ended the night having dinner and some more laughs at Tony’s Di Napoli and then headed home to tune in at 10pm hoping to catch ourselves on TV. And we sure did!
